I know this was supposed to be a complement but… Why would you hate cosplays, though? :[ Like, cosplay is for fun, we’re all nerds dressing up in costume, why the hate? I bet you would have hated my first version of the costume when I was 15 and didn’t know much of anything about making things like that. :[

There are different types of cosplayers and different levels in each type, but we’re all constantly changing and growing and getting better as long as there are people who support and encourage us to do so. *u*

And you know, maybe you don’t actually “hate” the cosplays that people do of her, maybe you were just indifferent to them and that was just a bad word choice, but that’s just something I don’t like seeing. :C

I am extremely happy that you liked my cosplay, though! But a lot of credit for that dramatic photo has to go to the photographer (prototypem.deviantart.com) who got the angle, lighting, and timing perfect in order to achieve that image.

I’m just a nerd in a costume. lol

Throwback Thursday: My Red-Raven costume from…’09 I think. The construction was pretty shoddy, but the eyes lit up with LEDs :)

SO COOL! I wanted to do something similar to this with my Raven, but just her white glow-y eyes.

I’m not very good at explaining things, so here’s a picture!

The cape itself is patterned as a quarter circle. If your fabric is wide enough, you can cut it out as drawn above. If not, you can cut it out as an eighth of a circle(where I drew the dashed line). In the end, the cape will be a half circle and drape nicely. :]

As for the hood, it’s pretty simple. The drawing shows the pattern drawn in profile. The dashed line is what most hood patterns look like, but for Raven you need the point, so just re-draw it to get the shape you want. :]

LOL person on facebook page telling me my body paint isn’t the right color for Raven because the lighting gives it have a blue-ish tint.

the internet at my hotel for wondercon is $12.99 a night. LOL NO. I’m in the lobby right now where it’s free, but I don’t see myself spending too much time down here. xD I’ll log on when I can from my phone, but otherwise I’ll talk to you guys after the weekend! :D

Did another night-shoot of this costume at AOD. It’s kind of funny that I only have night-shot photos of this cosplay. lol

Raven was my first cosplay back in the day and it was awful. It’s so nice to see how much I’ve advanced not just in costume quality but in posing/modeling as well. Even though I’m older, I think I pull off the Raven look better than I did when I really was 14. xD
